| Gotta chime in: Don't overclock laptops. They're already bad at dissipating heat and producing MORE heat will only cause problems.
Desktops have the case volume (air), heatsinks, and fans to handle it...and even then people will add liquid cooling to the chipset and processor for more aggressive overclocks. FWIW the machine I post from is a 2.4Ghz quad that's been running over 3Ghz for the better part of a decade on air cooling. Still runs cooler than the stock speed pentium 4's (what a terrible chip). | |
