I have an iPad, 64 gig, it is quite full with 7-8000 photos and videos.

iCloud isn't going to cut it, what, 5 gig? Ha.

I tried backing it up by plugging it in and just pulling in photos into the computer, but a lot was missing, the transfer was incomplete. I guess with that much stuff some buffers fill up, stuff gums up, and it just errors out. Since iOS does not have a real file structure, you get several dozen folders with pics in them, none of which makes any sense or logic, just all random squiggle names and no easy way to see what you did or didn't get. Just random missing files......

I set up iTunes for the first time a couple weeks ago, and did the sync. It is rather intimidating, as I don't know what is syncing, they don't explain if they are transferring from or too the device, if anything is getting erased? Very poorly done. It works very well to do whatever some Apple Exec envisioned, but it doesn't work well at all to do anything different than that persons vision.

In the end, it appeared not a single photo or video got transferred, it says it updated contacts and other such info, but not pics.

So, I still don't have my pics backed up.

Frustrating.

Paul
