| Have you tried a live version of linux? Should be able to boot from cd or usb stick. you should be able to access the hard drive. I like linux mint either kde or cinnamon, both are close enough to XP that they are fairly easy to navigate. Umbuntu also has a good version. All are free.
If your hard drive has room you can install it as a duel boot system.
i am still using my dell vostro 1000, that came with win XP. have no problem surfing the web and libre office. | |
