Three kids (9, 11, 13), and we usually try to mix in a few historical/educational things when we go somewhere. We've never been up in that part of the country, what are some things worth seeing and doing? Follow the Mississippi River to it's head source ? Iron mines and shipping in and around Lake Superior ? Mall of America ? Grand Marais up in the north east part of MN, on Lake Superior ? Lots of Water Falls / hiking trails / camp grounds around the North Shore of Superior. And of course, plenty of lake resorts to check out and fish/relax on.
