SD | As stated above it helps spread the work load out and cash inflow during late summer. Wheat costs less to produce than soybeans and corn. It improves soil tilth. Corn after wheat increases yields by 15-30 bu./acre. If you have been planting it for awhile and been lucky, you have built up some wheat aph's which can actually show a profit for 2017. Of course you need good protein and no quality discounts, (which is like winning the powerball lottery)but if we were in it for the money we would have quit a long time ago! | |
