yuo can have someone watching the spring pins "as " yuo raise the front end up ,by the frame with the weight off the springs you might be able to see how much they drop.

the way to check king pins is to raise the frontend ,tighten the brake down until the wheel is lokced ,put a bar in the hole in the wheel and see if it has movement in and out .the reason for running down the brake is to eliminate other wear giving a false reading .

if king pins are good ,pull tires /drums off and see if bearings are loose .

i would not rule out steer axle shocks either ,check them too .
