NW Ohio | This is looking from the top. Remove Front cast four bolts and slide out of the front. I think fuel tank needed to be removed also. (image.jpg) (image.jpg) Attachments ---------------- (0KB - 94 downloads) image.jpg (144KB - 138 downloads) image.jpg (120KB - 110 downloads)

There is no dedicated power steering pump on the 4020. All the tractor hydraulics, steering, brakes, differential lock, and remotes runs from the pump up front. That pump is fed by a pump in the transmission that feeds a combination cooler and reservoir up top up front. In pre side console new generation tractors have problems wearing out a check valve at the charge pump in the transmission. I have a web page on that topic, http://www.geraldj.networkiowa.com/4020si.htm Gerald J.

That's the steering motor, not the pump. Depending what is wrong, no need to pull it out. INDY

NCIA | You'll be able to tell if anyone has worked up there- that asinine piece that holds the fuel tank will have been torched around the hyd lines. If not here's your chance. Just did one last week. Apparently engineers were dumb as mud fifty years ago too.

SWMN | Steering runs off the tractor hyd system, no designated pump. Steering valve is under the dash which is connected to the steering wheel. Steering motor is under fuel tank connecting to the tie rods. What are the issues your having. Describe the symptoms maybe we can help.
