Subject: Suggestions for breaking compaction on former irrigation road

Eastern NE
I have a piece of ground that was gravity irrigated until last year. It now has a pivot. I will be rerouting the irrigation road. I am thinking about using a cover crop such as a radish to break the compaction on the old road. Does anybody have any suggestions for covers that will do a good job of breaking the compaction caused by being driving on for 60+ years? Thank you very much!
