| Is there anyway to unhook the safety switch that shuts off the mower deck when you go in reverse? |
|
|
|
| If its the same switch as the X serie mowers then all you have to do is hold the switch when starting to reverse and then release, mower will stay on |
|

|
North Eastern ND | find the sensor that is pushed when you push on the reverse pedal and move it so it does not get pressed so it doesn't think your in reverse....that works on some of the x series mowers..... |

West Central IL | I had a 1025R and a friend of mine came out and disabled that but not sure how he did it as I wasn't there at the time but it can be done. |

Findlay, OH | Spring type clothes pin under switch, easily removed in case you have younger operators. |

West Central IL | It's different on a 1025R, I had a X758 before and I was able to do that but couldn't on my 1025R so a friend that used to work at JD did it for me but not sure how he did it. |

| make sure that if its under warranty and you unhook it that you hook it back up if you bring it in for warranty work. unhooking the safety switch voids the warranty |

central WI | I think the majority of these stupid "safety" features actually make the machine more dangerous. Instead of just paying attention to what your doing with the machine your too busy holding knobs before u back up and clapping 6 times before you put it into gear, and after awhile of mowing and forgetting to override the features and having to restart the deck and machine your so pissed off your racing around the yard not paying attention to anything. All because there's too many lawyers and liberals in this country. |

Spring Grove MN | The clothes pin works and is simple. No issues if you have warranty/service work done. |

X2, instead of looking where your backing, your looking for the darn switch you have to press. Then all of a sudden you ran over someone that you otherwise would have seen. I do understand the seat safety switch, if you fall off, it will die, but the reverse switch is an accident waiting to happen. |

Vermont, IL | I disabled mine the day after I brought it home. You can actually google it and find out a couple different techniques. I took the PTO switch out and determined which two terminals were "made" when the switch was pulled up, jumpered those wires and put it back together. Works fine. |

Southern Pa. | X3. The seat switch I won't bypass. The RIO switch is a pain. Brought about by a senseless lawsuit. Life would be better for all of us if folks would take personal responsibility for their mistakes. How is it the manufacturer's fault if you're not paying attention when you back up? |

St. Joseph, Champaign County, IL | +1 I disabled the switch on Dad's 1026R, which should be same thing. Installed a jumper in the connection on the back of the switch. IIRC, I found a YouTube video that told me all I needed to know. It wasn't the exact same tractor/ mower, but it was plenty close enough since the switch worked the same way. |
