Subject: Sprayer tractor cab filters

Huron County,Ontario
Just been running stock filters on our JD 7230 sprayer tractor and think there are probably some health benefits to switching to some air filters that properly filter the air when in the cab while spraying....saw on here that most people going this route are going with the Dutch Openers air filters, any other suggestions or tips before pulling the trigger on some? Will try to find some online and get a price from local JD dealership as well. Do self propelled sprayers come stock with proper air filters?
TIA

Our JD 4830 SP sprayer uses a charcoal filter. I THINK this was OEM equipment. Get it from Deere.

I've gotten charcoal air filters for several makes of tractors from cleanairfilter.com. Even local dealers source filters from CAF.

You need charcoal filters. I always just ran plain filters on mine but know that I've got a self propelled I can tell the cab air is filtered much better.

Charcoal filters are worth the extra money spent, just don't tell the manufacturer, they might double it.

+1 on charcoal filters from cleanairfilter.com. I bought a filter for my Allis tractor. Nice people to deal with.

AL158986 (set of 2), and 2x L209778.
AL159178 is also recommended for the first time carbon filters are installed.

JD Online parts says it'll take ~$1300CDN out of your pocket.

Chris,

The Deere filters are an annual purchase, use, dispose of deal. Very effective, but very $pendy...

The Dutch filters use a 'frame', then you buy the activated charcoal in a bag. Load the filter frame and install. At the start of the following season, change out the charcoal - (C$70) for the last box I bought - and carry on.

If Dutch make a filter for your application, Highly recommend the system. The mothership at Exeter will either have them or can order. I know they stock the charcoal.

Ken
