Anybody have a wiring diagram on a seven pin connector on a tractor? Looking for power prong and ground prong but would be nice to know what all of them power. Any info would be appreciated.

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

Here's a copy and paste, from DEERE company:

 {Whatever Version A means ???}

Edit: I just found another DIFFERENT diagram, that is under a JD 8R series tractor.

 You probably need to tell us what JD model of tractor = my searches tend to show a diagram that you would find in the operators manual = have you looked ,in your manual, yet?

7-Pin Outlet—(Version A)

A - 7-Pin Outlet

B - Terminal Numbers

7-Pin outlet (A) is used to connect lights, turn signals, and remote electrical equipment on trailers or implements. Tractors equipped with front hitch have a 7-Pin outlet (A) located on the front of the tractor. Always use auxiliary light on towed implement when tractor signals and other lights are obscured.

If extra implement lights and controls, such as switches are needed, contact your John Deere™ dealer. Your dealer can provide information on methods to tie in the light switch with one of the accessory wires located in the 7-Pin outlet on the back of the tractor.

NOTE: Matching plug is available through your John Deere™ dealer.

Center pin needs 12 volts, not all tractors are wired that way.

Large pin is ground, that is correct. Center pin you want 12 volt power with key switch at " ON / RUN " position, and OFF with key OFF.

Example, if you are connecting planter with a fold box, the fold box gets its power here, and there will be a red " POWER " light on some fold boxes. If you have 12 volts all the time, even with key switch off you will drain your batteries.

Not sure of your tractor, but if older Deere 40 series or 30 series, you may have to add this wire to your 7 pin plug. 50 series and newer should be wired, but it would not hurt to pull the boot back, and check wiring for corrosion / cleanliness. I also like to run another 12 ga ground wire from the large pin terminal connection to a good ground, say like the bolt / plate on the SCV that the 7 pin mount uses.

Seems like CAT does something different on certain models. I recall several years ago where a planter was in the shop where I worked for a fertilizer attachment. At the time the tractor was a new "CAT" and the planter was C-IH. In order to get the planter unfold box to work, the tractor lights needed to be ON. This didn't seem like a real big deal to me but the owner complained and a CAT tech came to the shop to investigate. He was going to rewire the plug so that the lights didn't need to be ON to unfold. In the process he blew a fuse and caused himself a lot of extra work and grief.

I added a different plug, with a toggle switch, for the hot, and a circuit breaker for safety
