Findlay, OH | you don't need any cell phone service to run the drone deploy app. my galaxy tab that i use it wifi only and i have used it out in the field several times. the only internet connection you need is for the actual uploading of the pictures to their website, so they can process and stitch them. they then provide you with a fully stitched imagine, which i believe can be saved for use while you are offline.
as for the free version of the app, i can't help you there. i haven't used it since my 1 month trial ran out. i am planning on subscribing monthly once we get the crop planted and growing to monitor conditions and field scouting.
be advised, you will need to upload lots of large file size pictures to their website. i have dsl at my office with a fairly slow upload speed. i am searching for an alternative. for example, a 45 acre field i mapped required around 200 pictures to be uploaded so they could be processed. | |
