Subject: Need Help Convincing It's Time For an Autosteer

Radville, SK
I'm trying to convince my father, who is both cheap and does the books for the farm(terrible combination ;) ), that I think it would be in our best interests to purchase 1 or hopefully 2 autosteer units for the sprayer and tractor.

First, I'll make a quick list about the operations/layout on our farm:
1. We farm 3360 acres and could be increasing to 4500-5000 in the next 3 years.
2. We custom spray between 5000-10000 acres for neighbours a year plus our own.
3. We seed a lot of flax, wheat, sometimes alfalfa, and others depending on price.
4. We have large, flat, and straight fields. One field is a solid 1100 acres with the rest in close to 640 acre chunks.

The equipment I'd like to put it on:
1. 2002 Buhler Versatile 2360 that pulls a Bourgault 60' 5710 airdrill, 70' Brandt Commander 7000 heavy harrows, 40' rockroller, etc
2. 1994 Gallenberg 1000XT 120' booms, 1000 gallon tank sprayer

We have an old Trimble Ez-Guide lightbar badged under the New Holland name but it just doesn't cut it anymore, and we can't have it in both the tractor and sprayer during seeding.

I'm slowly convincing him, but it's not an easy feat.

I should mention that this is a 1-2 man operation.

What do you suggest?

Thanks!
