Subject: Fall pics & clean up (Warning lots of pics don't click if concerned w/ phone data limits)

We have had a beautiful fall so far. After the last 2 rough wet springs here and the never drying constantly raining last fall it was nice to have an extended dry fall with day after day of good running conditions.

Got done before the 3" rain 2 weeks ago and have had some nice weather to get some clean up projects done in pleasant conditions.

Big shout out and thank you to Ron Lukow for sharing about the foam cannon for washing stuff. Also nice to finally have some warm/hot water when needed. Looked in my picture archive and combine cleanup last year was on 12/14/14.

I bought a AR direct drive pump for my pressure washer this year to replace my gear reduction drive one that was original from the early 90's that was going away last year.  Huge improvement in pressure and it also has adjustable unloader valve my old one did not. Will output 4gpm and up to 4000 psi so need to be careful and dial it back but have plenty of power for stubborn grease and mud.

Here is the foam cannon for applying soap.

This is the add on hot box from Northern Tool. You output high pressure washer from your washer via hose to this unit which will heat the water up to 250 °F. This way you do not run hot water through your pressure washer pump and damage it.

Here is what it does to clean a dirty sidewalk.

Try and keep combine blowed off every night to keep dust down and to avoid buildup that may smolder or get hot. Usually spend a couple days after harvest with leaf blower trying to get most of the big stuff blowed off. I add a piece of shop vac hose and a smaller nozzle to increase velocity and to avoid having to wear the back pack blower while underneath. It's mandatory to wear a full face respirator, sock hat, and hood. It's a filthy dirty job and is hard to imagine how much dust gets packed into places.

Here was the cleaned up combine the first day of soybean harvest with me.

Here I am running some 30" row beans.

Here was a neat sunset one evening.

Shelling corn. This year I only ran stompers on the rows the tires ran over. The last couple years with cold and lots of snow cover all winter all the rows stomped flat seemed to make a thick mat that did not break down at all. Coupled with 2 very wet springs I struggled to get beans planted into this. That was why for the first time in almost 18 years I planted 30" row beans. As the plater with Dawn closing wheels is a little better adapted to planting in wetter conditions. I planted between the old corn rows.

Very dry corn coming out of the field which was nice.

Next to last field of corn

Final 6 rows.

The foam cannon being used.

The older I get and after hearing about some serious falls (like our own Buster50 here) I try and do things as safely as possible. I use a soft car wash brush on an extendable paint roller stick for reaching high areas from a lower ladder rung or from the ground.

Can reach the soapy water bucket on the ground this way also.

Cleaned up 1978 C-60 old reliable has hauled a lot of bushels over the years which in turn has made a lot of other dreams turn into realities.

Cleaned up and oiled 693 corn head.

Sprayed down with JD multipurpose spray.

Here is the first pre-wash before using any soap.

After soaping and rinsing.

These were today after washing on Friday.

Thanks for looking !

Hope you enjoyed the pictures !
