How come RTK radios don't need to be licenced?

I believe it also depends on if the ISP is using frequency hopping equipment or not. If it is older stuff, then probably not. Not sure about other makes but Deere RTK is frequency hopping so the amount of intereference from those systems should be limited. I agree with the other comments, if it's in the free band, then it's fair game. It does get a little tricky when the RTK is interfering with farmers internet: drive really straight vs. the kids downloading music!!


Some of the older wisp stuff was fhss (hoppers), but not too much anymore - tended not to have enough throughput. Hopping radios tend not to get along very well with dsss (what everything else is) especially if it hopped on the channel you are using.
