Subject: Gallenberg sprayer

Is this a sprayer like yours? ...

Yep, it's about like that sprayer with 110' booms, 5.9 cummins and only a 600 gallon tank. My boom is considerably more worn (worn joints, white plastic slider is gone), but it was only $13K compared to $60K. I bought it when I was doing a little custom spraying and have been slowly fixing it up. There is enough slop in the booms that if you make a sudden steering correction or go over a bump that moves the sprayer, those booms can get moving in a hurry and tend to make the chassis move as well. It's possible that after I've fixed all the pins, bent boom parts, etc that it will do less of this. One thing is that the ride is almost perfect. The sprayer was designed for potato fields in Wi - the suspension has really long links with airbags and shock absorbers and I was told it was designed like a monster truck. Keep in mind, it's not sending the sprayer 3' off course, but it does set up an oscillation that the ez steer has to work out to keep straight.

thanks,

Pat
