Australia
Pat,

It's nice that the outback rep was honest... however his understanding of Trimble and Deere RTK is questionable as they do not use Omnistar for their RTK. You need to ask your Outback rep if he is quoting you on L1 RTK or dual frequency RTK. Their is a huge difference. Deere, Trimble and Leica (mojoRTK) are all dual frequency systems. Outback have in the past only had single frequency RTK. They have a new receiver which is dual frequency but I am not sure if they have it in their outback systems yet but it would pay to ask.

As for the sub-inch myth please read this paper...

Once you have read this ask Outback for a similar specification of accuracy. It is the only true way to compare accuracy of GPS receivers.

John
