Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Lightning is correct. Connecting as you have suggested will cause damage.
The 500 will create a coverage map when Pin 4 is connected to Pin 5 either by a switch or the relay.
When the Output side of the Raven floor switch is ON, you want it to activate the relay which connects Pin 4 and Pin 5 of the 500.
In this way the two systems are electrically isolated.
The above method is what I use with my Insight or Raven to the 500.
The Coverage Map is not that great when compared to other mapping systems but is better than nothing.
Your description of how the wiring goes in your Hagie is not completely correct but that is a minor point. The relay is the main concern so as not to cause damage to the 500.
You can think of it this way: Presently you step on the 500 floor switch to complete the circuit between Pins 4 & 5 of the 500. With the relay involved, it replaces that switch and competes the circuit whenever the Raven Master is ON.
