Complaint or Symptom :
Customer calls and says he is getting an error of "GPS Update is 1 Hz. Tracking is inaccurate

Problem or Situation :
For reasons yet to be determined, the StarFire receiver starts sending GPS updates at 1Hz (one time per second) through the CAN bus. This problem only seems to be occurring on older (Gen II) StarFires, not StarFire iTCs.

Solution :
Have the customer got to the following pages on the GreenStar Display: SETUP/STARFIRE RECEIVER/PAGE 2.

The second item on this page is “Serial Port Output Rate”. Change this setting from “1” to “5”.

Additional Information :
The serial output rate should have no affect on Parallel Tracking or AutoTrac, but changing this setting seems to take care of the message and some reports state that it improves AutoTrac. AMS is working on the reason why this error is being thrown.
