check your coax cabling at the base, radio and antenna. have noted lately that some of these "older" systems are having cable issues. have seen some of the braids breaking at the crimp on the connectors. drove a few people crazy trying to figure it out..... we were observing similar problems would have good signal, then nothing, then good....etc etc
