I agree with Old Pokey, getting the bars shimmed exactly right seems to be a waste of time. I spent a lot of time getting one rotor exactly right so when you back out the concave stops un till rotor bars contact concave,every bar made the exact same tick tick tick sound as they touched. The other rotor as installed,was off enough so the the bars touched sounding like tick ,TICK, tick ,thump, KERLUNK ,tick,and threshed exactly the same on hard threshing spring wheat at 0 rotor clearance. In easy threshing stuff like peas,flax or canola,it makes no difference at all.
