Subject: Broken hub bolts on tandem truck

Mid-Michigan
I Put new brakes on our old tandem (1977 GMC) last year. Hydraulic brakes (tons of fun). I put new bearings and seals on put stuff together. Used it to haul corn all fall. I took it out to haul some soybeans and notices several hub studs loose (the eight that holds axle to hub). In actuality, five of the eight were broke. Besides the obvious (too much torque) could anything else cause this? Never had a problem in 25 years. Things are broke off in the hub. Can't get them out with an easyout. Guess I'm on my way to the junk yard.
