07 was first yr of red top 8010, but I was told that the 06 had most of updates when they came out. We have 06 and 08 and the 06 has way more power than 08. Don't know why but we chipped 08 and now it keeps up to 06. We have had very good luck with our 06, had to pull rotor cuz there was not any cover on back of rotor and it filled with dust. We fixed that now.
