most of the black tops had upgrades done to them from case years back when we were looking the older ones had all been updated with all the company updates . if well taken care of I would not be afraid to buy a black top one. I know a guy who has a 04 which was one of the first ones out and has over 3000 hours on it and other than regular wear items he has had no problems
