| It might be a good idea to customize the donahue deck for the head. With some of the bars often used on a head trailer, but they could be made of wood and bolted to the deck or frame. Then the head tilt can be accommodated and those can include places for tie down bungee or ratchet straps if the head moves. The donahue deck can be close to the ground but with wheels in the way sliding something on from the side unless the wheels are removed which is part of its design.
I borrowed a donahue once and hauled an old head home from an auction, hoping I could adapt it to my custom combiner's combine for oats, but it wouldn't fit. I didn't unload it at home, I took it straight to the scrap yard and sold it for almost what I paid for it. It was a 25 or 30 mile haul, I probably hooked ratchet straps from the donahue frame around the head to keep it from moving.
