Subject: RE: OSB or Plywood for bottom 8' in shop

Kingston,Mi
My wood shop and the back half of the garage/warehouse have Medium Density Fiberboard (compressed sawdust) and have held up well for 35 years for the wood shop and 40 years for the work shop. Since the liner is attached to 2x6 stubs, all the wall loads are attached thru the liner to the studs. The studs were added to a standard pole barn to attach the bat insulation and the liner. When I lined the warehouse portion of the original garage, I went with O.S.B. because it was lighter per sheet and I'm getting old. The O.S.B.in the warehouse portion to keep it bright and inviting. When I finish the new shop, the bottom 8 feet likely will be plywood and painted to match my outside wainscoting. I have been satisfied with the 2 products already in use.
