There is a handful of guys that do mobile welding around here, and they always seem to be busy. Irrigation work is their bread and butter. If the kid you know can weld up tie ins that look good and don't leak, and put a pivot back together after a crash, he could do all right in an area with a lot of irrigation.
Good idea or not?
