Ethridge, TN
The deflector is there to keep the chopper from throwing cobs back into the sieves, which can cause problems of their own. The early, before serial number 700000, I think, had this deflector bolted in place. It in effect closes down the area that material can enter the chopper thru, plus also reduces the area for the machine to expel the fan air. The kit allows this deflector to pivot back, opening the entrance to the chopper, so that it can grab the material easier, plus one "should" see better air flow, ie. less air should have to be expelled thru the side chutes, so maybe taking less crap with it causing the plugging problem. This is the "theory" of it anyhow, time will tell the true story.
