Subject: RE: All Wheel Drive Conversion For Heavy Truck

The utility industry buys trucks with aftermarket all wheel drive installed.
But why would they want to for a spreader truck?
In the 70's and 80's, companies would take something like a GM, Ford, IH 2 ton chasis and make over to be a spreader truck. I haven't seen a new one like that since. Now, the Terragator and like that have the market. Just too many unsolveable problems with the road trucks. And such a piece of wore out, corroded junk in such a short time.
As a farmer, if I had a choice between a yellow one or a truck chasis in my fields, I would take the yellow.
