| We pulled the planter in the shed about 30 minutes ago. They are calling for 100% chance for rain tonight and tomorrow. Our first 500 acres has emerged and is looking good. We have a couple of fields that (believe it or not) could use a few tenths of rain to soften the crust, but with all the moisture in the ground, I would guess that any crust is softened up overnight when the moisture comes up. We sure don't need a gullywasher, for we went through a few marginal spots during the last 3 days of planting. (Could get hard) For the most part, though, we had good planting conditions. I would guess that 75% of the corn in this area is in. My friend with ADM thinks that the planting progress report will once again be bullish.
