Subject: Re: Fox Network Ethanol Bashing

Leesburg, Ohio
Jim: Many of the companies you refer to are members of the Grocers Manufacturing Association, headed by former California congressman Cal Dooley. They and some of the oil companies are in the middle of a $15 million dollar campaign to smear corn and ethanol with whatever myths and misinformation they can get the media to believe, and are spending their money and time making visits to media sources to get it done.

NCIA: Don't make claims about what the NCGA is or is not doing that you can't back up. I just received the best collection of imformation I have seen yet about food/fuel and ethanol controversy. It was compiled and distributed by our Ohio Corn Growers association, and much of the information came from the NCGA, and from there relationship with other organizations and researchers. The facts are, Corn Growers associations are working on our behalf every day, and have begun their own multi-million dollar campaign with funding secured from several agribusinesses to counter the misinformation being spewed by the GMA and Big Oil. Maybe if you participated in your organization once in a while, you would know more about what is being done, and could have some influence in it, instead of sitting around bitching.
