E.Central MN | Why not give subsidies directly to those companies that use the corn to feed livestock, chickens, etc.? Take the money from the LDP program and some from the nutrition program and call it food aid. It would benefit those end users just like the govt program that subsidized farmers to grow a surplus of corn. Exporters would have to buy it at market price. Consumers wouldn't be able to bitch that their tax dollars were going to subsidize rich farmers. | |
