South central Minnesota | Right now this moisture is leading to a lot of stress in this area, fall contracts and no corn planted for some farmers around here, SCMN. I have been fortunate to be able to get about 1/2 my corn in so far but I might have pushed it and I hope I won't be hurt by it. From all my records the best crops have been planted into warm dry conditions with timely rains and moderate summer temps. Not setting up that way here, hope we are surprised by the yields this fall. Start lowering yield projections as the seed corn starts to be shuffled about to go to earlier hybrids. | |
