Figure out how many BTU's are in a tank of Gasoline, then figure how big a tank you're gonna have to have to get an equivalent amount of BTU's. My guess is, if you drive a minivan, by the time you get the tanks and fuel on board, you're full. I worked some with a biofuels project and one of the things we studied was CNG. California even tried to mandate it. All they could get it to work on was busses. It took so many tanks, and they were so heavy, that without overloading the bus they could only run 8 hours with the fuel on board vs 12 plus with diesel, so they couldn't go the full day on the route. CNG definately has it's problems.
