Mid Michigan
China uses 7 million barrels a day and we use 19 million barrels. It is mainly about us. I drive to work every day through a freeway gauntlet of Mini vans, huge Suv's, motor homes, campers, full sized pickups pulling everything under the sun, semi's , vacationers. You name it. It's going down the freeway. Fact of the matter is Americans are not planning on changing their ways. People are totally addicted to senseless driving around this country 24-7. People in this country will drive the same amount if gas and diesel are $10 dollars a gallon. They will beg, borrow and steal to do it too. A lot of people in the US make huge amounts of money and $10 dollar gas won't affect a lot of them one bit. If you make $200,000 dollars a year income what does it matter if it costs $300 dollars to fill your suv. Lots of people get by on $40,000 a year and if you have double that, or triple that, or four or five times as much money gas means nothing to you. There will still be 1000's of gas hogging vehicles driving past my house going up north every weekend even if it hits $5-$10 dollars a gallon, guaranteed.
