I have worked with a number of customers with large planters. Where you have the terrain for them it is impressive what a 40-90 ft planter can do. However, even a 90 ft planter right now is starting to plant seed on May 5th that in the past few years may very likely have been planted April 10th through the heart of the corn belt. 25 days is still 25 days behind last year no matter how big your planter and what the weather for the rest of the growing season. There is also rain predicted for a large part of the corn belt yet again this week last forcast that I heard. We are on a track to below trend line yields at a time when the market requires trendline or higher yields. I haven't seen anything in the fields which seems like it will change that. jmho.
