Subject: RE: DLSR camera

Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

I was where you are about a year ago, but I was highly intimidated by all the options out there. Talked to a few people and to a very knowledgeable young man at a long-established camera shop, and ended up with a Sony RX-10.  http://store.sony.com/dsc-rx10-digital-still-camera-zid27-DSCRX10/B/cat-27-catid-All-Cyber-shot-R-Series-Cameras  More expensive than a point-n-shoot but with much higher creativity level; less expensive than a traditional DSLR but easier to manage for me. I've been very happy with the pix that I've taken with it, and really like the fact that there are so many adjustments/lens selections that I can make, but I don't have to pack around a case full of extra equipment to get the shots I want. Just one more alternative to think about.
