I planted a field with my Cruizer II last year, by hand, sure was hell on hand eye coordination and tiring but it sure looked good and you couldnt find the guess rows when it was up without studying hard

 

Once you get the autosteer you will wonder why you didn't do so sooner.  The increased efficiency due to reduced overlap and savings on tractor hours (along with the savings in fuel labor etc) will pay for a system a lot quicker than most realize.




This, and if you ever get into some tillage that creates heavy dust coming from behind so you are in effect in a dust cloud going forward, or in dry conditions that make it very difficult to see where your last pass was, its the cats meow.
Its one of those little things that the more you use it, the more you like it.
