I would feel safer if it was 1045 CR or even forged. I think you would need to pin your fifth wheel sold so it wouldn't rock. I f those conditions are met, the idea is fine. Myself I would make a separate mount for a gooseneck ball. I prefer the 40,000 pound cap. forged balls myself. jeff
