MN | We have 2 ultrashifts or is it meritor? anyway 12 speed no clutch pedal. No major problems so far, they are fussy about voltage and you need near 100psi air to keep things going smooth. I am not a trucker either so I like them, much easier to teach a driver on than having to find the right gear all the time. Never had problems getting out of a field unless it is too greasy to be there in the first place. Just put it in manual and down to 1 and go, seems to pull better than a 6 spd allison in a tandem in soft ground. I use it to haul from a bin to town and we use short trailers that we basically fill from end to end and have no issues moving ahead 2 feet at a time. It is much like a pickup with an auto but maybe ours are programmed differently than others. Around here autoshift daycabs are about twice the price of 10 spd daycabs. | |
