I bought a tandem with a two pedal 10 speed this fall. I had no problem with it in fields. Most of the time you could just hit the throttle and go. If it was a little soft just hit the "Low" button and start rolling and then hit "D" without stopping. I don't really care if any "real" truckers don't like them - I love it.
