has your income been 100% derived from the farming operation or is it supplemented with sidework or a job?

Why does it matter?

In my view any work you do off of your own land is "off farm income" including trucking in the winter or custom work for others.

+1.

Around here, a good off-farm job has taken the place of livestock on many operations. Pretty easy to work full time and farm 500-1000 acres with today's equipment and an understanding boss.
