Subject: RE: Nuclear fusion power "breakthrough"?

Near-north Ontario, French River
I found it interesting that one of the first proposed uses was for powering of warships. Politics aside the US navy probably isn't overly concerned (relatively speaking) if the new reactor is economical to operate as long as it increase naval capability in some way. Again, politics aside, that lack of concern is a good thing because it allows the reactors to be refined , updated etc under actual real life use vs a theoretical drawing board. They might get it operational in a naval vessel with 10 yrs, in another 10 yrs I would expect it to be in commercial/utility use once they incorporate any lessons learned by the navy. Lots of ifs and buts to be answered and bridges to be crossed but if this breakthrough leads to a real safe reliable power source it could be a game changer for man kind .
