Subject: RE: EZ-Guide 500 pinout for splitter cable - correction

Sunnyvale, CA
The DE-9 pinout on both the EZ-Guide 500 and Plus is:

1. Keypad alarm data
2. RS-232 Rx
3. RS-232 Tx
4. External Switch input
5. Ground
6. Keypad serial data
7. Keypad Clock
8. External Output (Radar Pulses)
9. Power (5 volts) to keypad

the cables 52033 and 62749 break out thes pins as follows

Pins 1,4,5,6,9 connect to the Keypad DE-9(M)
Pins 2,3,5 connect to the RS-232 GPS DE-9(M)
Pins 4,5,8 connect to the 3-pin weather pack for the I/O functions. Black is ground pin 5. coverage logging is white pin 4. radar is red pin 8 (this is a correction) be careful to not feed any voltages into the I/O pins . use a relay if you wish to turn on coverage logging on the EZ-Guide 500.

What will you use the extra switch for? I ask because the EZ-Boom should be configured to turn on boom sections automatically and there is a master switch on the front of the EZ-Boom controller.
