Subject: Questions for Jim at Dawn

Sent a message last week directly to the Dawn site with no response so I'll try here. I have a Kinze 2000 planter with cast iron closing wheels which I'm using to plant corn and beans. Conditions range from conventional to no-till in droughty sandy loam soils to wet silty clay loams. My problem is getting decent corn and soybean stands in no-till on the silty clay loams. It's a tough balance between not closing the seed furrow and closing it too tightly. Would installing your curvetine wheels on one side with the cast iron wheels on the other solve my problems. I've got a problem but I'm also trying to minimize the amount I spend on my small acreage.
