Subject: RE: How much will harvested acres drop?

South central Minnesota
Just looking back at the last 2 June acreage reports Jon, usda is using 91.4 % harvested. In 12 they used 92.2 in June and in 2009 it was 92%

A 10 year comparison of what usda projects in July vs the January final production report

Year July harvested Jan final July estimate yield Jan final

2013 89.1 87.7 156.5 158.8

2012 88.9 87.4 146 123.4

2011 84.9 84 158.7 147.2

2010 81.0 81.4 163.5 152.8

2009 80.1 79.6 153.4 164.9

2008 78.9 78.6 148.4 151.1

2007 85.4 86.5 150.3 149.1

2006 72.0 70.6 149 148

2005 74.3 75.1 145 147.9

2004 73.4 73.6 145 160.4

when we have had Mississippi River flooding we have lost acres in the final talley, 93 was extreme
but 2002, 08,11 and 13 are noteworthy. To add to the chart 2002's harvested was at 72.1 in June
but ended up at 69.3 by the January report.
