Subject: RE: Auger rubbing causes growling noise

I'd sure suspect the auger is rubbing on the stripper when the header is raised as the frame deflects reward at the outer ends. Is it a continuous growl or intermittent chirping?
Center supported augers, like that used on the new Lexion heads provide better support in the middle and better control of auger to stripper clearance in the middle. I expect all headers will eventually have the center supported augers, along with center line drive for the augers and the knife drives.
