The hook should be set before the planter is swung around.
Additionally, there is a transport safety stand which attaches to the center frame lift cylinder ram.
That is TWO methods of redundancy protecting the planter against lowering in the folded position. Even if an operator incorrectly set the hook, the secondary safety stand will support the full weight of the upper frame. I have never seen or heard of a failure in the secondary safety stand.
