Subject: Calmer's cornhead trash reduction kits

North Iowa
I have been seeing a few posts about these kits from Marion Calmer, thought I'd post our experience. We put the smaller drive sprockets on a couple years back on our 1293 Deere. I have not once seen a beaver hut buildup on the head since. There are those times in mid afternoon when it may not be as clean as earlier in the day, or later on for that matter, but bottom line, for us it works as promised. I did not go with the angled deck plates, just the smaller sprockets and shorter chains. Ours is a 2003 model head, with the flatter angle than the earlier ones had. What impressed me about the company is when I had a couple pre-purchase questions, the "order taker" on the line said "hang on a bit, I'll transfer you" and 20 seconds later I had Marion himself on the phone to answer my questions.

FWIW

Hank
