Subject: Re: Irrigation

Well first off how are you determining how much you are getting on I have been told you could put in 7 rain gauges the length of the pivot and get 7 different reading so first you reading could be off, second if the one pivot is getting that much less water, one reason could be is the well feeding that pivot is not putting out as much water, another reason could be that pivot moves faster maybe it has larger tires on the end towers or maybe someone replaced a center drive and put one with different ratio than the system originally came with, that could screw the entire system up because the end tower is the "boss" tower and every thing else follows that one. The percentage timer tells you the amount of time the end tower moves if you have the percent timer at 30% that means the end tower will move for approx. 3 minutes out of 10 and if the center drive has been changed and a different ratio one put on this tower will move farther in those 3 minutes and thus all the other towers will have to run more in order to keep up so check the well output, and the check to see the tire size and center drive ratios to make sure they are the same as the rest of the towers would be the first place I would start looking.
